How do I Reset a Staff Member’s Password?
If a staff member is unable to log in or has forgotten their password, managers can reset the password directly from the User Page in the Manager App. This article outlines the three available password reset options and when to use each.
Step 1: Navigate to the User Page
-
Log into the Manager App
-
Go to the User Page
Step 2: Select the Staff Member
-
Locate the staff member who needs a password reset from the User List.
-
You can use the search bar to quickly find them
-
Click on their name to open their User Info Page
Step 3: Go to Account Administration
-
Scroll to the bottom right of the User Info Page
-
Locate the section labeled Account Administration
You have three password-related options:
Option 1: Resend Welcome Email
This option:
-
Sends the original Welcome Email again
-
Prompts the user to create a new password
Best used when:
-
The user never completed account setup
-
The user needs a fresh setup link
Option 2: Send Reset Password Link
This option:
-
Sends a password reset link only
-
Does not resend the full Welcome Email
Best used when:
-
The user already has an active account
-
They simply forgot their password
Option 3: Manually Update the Password
This option:
-
Allows you to set a new password on behalf of the staff member
-
You must provide the temporary password to the user directly
⚠ Important:
If you manually update the password, instruct the staff member to change their password immediately after logging in to protect their account and prevent misuse.
This option is typically used when:
-
The user cannot access their email
-
Immediate access is required
Best Practice Recommendations
-
Whenever possible, use Send Reset Password Link for security.
-
Use Manual Password Update only when necessary.
-
Remind staff members never to share passwords.
-
Encourage users to update temporary passwords right away.
- Tip: Send along the User Name to the staff member. This is located in the User Info Tab in the non editable field labelled "SchedulePop User Name." It is typically the first and last name, one word (no spaces), but could contain a number.
