What are some general tips I need to know before setting up a budget using Budget Planner Tool?

Before diving in, take the time to carefully plan and set your budget goals to make the most out of the tool.

When using the Budget Planner Tool, it's important to avoid making drastic changes to your budgeting approach. This helps prevent confusion and ensures a smooth process that is ongoing.   Best practices would suggest careful preparation and then sticking with the choice you have made.

Before you begin to make the best use of the budget tool, you need to go over the pay rates for your employees.  Remember that not all employees who share a duty have the same pay rate.   Once a pay rate is established for an individual staff member that data will be entered every time they are scheduled to work.   However, be sure to check the pay rates for employees as you go along.

Measuring a budget by hours can yield different results than measuring by dollars.  Not all employees have the same pay rates, of course.  Measuring by hours will not account for those differences.

Permission to set and manage a budget must be granted by a supervisor.

Planning your budget by Zone & Duty is the most granular selection for managing a budget.  It will yield more information at a deeper level than other choices.

Once you have chosen the manner in which you plan to develop your budget, proceed to the sidebar menu and select the Budget Planner icon represented by the $ sign.

Depending on the method you have chosen to plan, your display will be different.  All displays cover a 7 day period.

Stay tuned for future updates to Budget Planner Tool.
