What does the red arrow mean?

The red arrow icon appears on shifts in the manager app to indicate that a shift has not yet been published.

NOTE: Red arrows only apply to shifts that have users attached, i.e.unpublished user shifts.

When a user shift shows a red arrow:

  • The shift is visible only to managers
  • The shift is not visible in the staff app
  • Staff have not been notified of the shift they are scheduled for

Unpublished shifts are considered draft shifts.

Once a shift is published:

  • The red arrow disappears
  • The shift becomes visible in the staff app
  • Staff can view their assigned shifts and know when they are expected to work

Why This Is Important

The red arrow serves as a visual reminder that:

  • A shift is not finalized
  • Publishing is required before staff can see or act on the shift
  • Managers can safely build and edit schedules before releasing them

Quick Tip

Before finalizing a schedule, scan for red arrows to ensure all intended shifts are published.
