Government regulations require daily nurse staffing data on the total number and type of staff and the actual hours worked by nursing staff by shift. Work with your account manager to tailor its use according to your specific needs.
The Daily Staff Posting generates an HTML printed overview of the hours worked in a single day by both full-time licensed and unlicensed staff members.

Here is a detailed explanation of the Daily Posting Print feature.
The Daily Staff Posting presents the work day in three eight-hour periods:
- 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
- 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
These three periods are designed to give an overall view of the licensed and unlicensed care coverage throughout the entire 24-hour work day, taking into account the specific needs and preferences of different institutions.
It's important to note that these three periods do not represent the specific breakdown of shifts used by each location.
Please be aware that different states have varying regulations regarding "break time," "lunch," or "meals." Currently, the Daily Staff Posting does not calculate break times for meals and rest. It only presents shift data in terms of full 8-hour shifts.
The Daily Staff Posting takes the information from the daily schedule and provides summaries of licensed and unlicensed care in the following ways:
- Census
- Number of FTE Staff, Licensed and Unlicensed
- Total number of hours worked
The information on the daily census will be visible only when there is a current and active Planning Period in place.
Licensed staff who work full-time equivalent (FTE) hours are displayed together in one section, while unlicensed staff are presented separately in another section of the data.
The total number of hours is calculated by multiplying the number of FTE staff by the standard shift duration, typically 8 hours. For example, if there are two FTE staff members, the total number of hours would be 16. It's important to note that due to the variations in daily shifts organized by different institutions, the calculated hours may not always be whole numbers.
The hours can be shown in two different formats:
1. Rounded to the nearest quarter hour (0.25)
2. Presented as actual data with up to two decimal places.
Due to the complexity and variation of actual required coverage across different states, it is important to use this tool as an estimation rather than legal proof of compliance with government regulations.
