Zones offer a convenient way to organize your schedule by physical area, like ‘department’ or areas within the building. This allows schedulers to independently manage these zones.
Key Features of Zones
-
Zone Name:
- The Zone Name is defined during the onboarding process and represents the specific area, shift, or department for which the zone is created (e.g., “Old Building” or " Nursing).
-
Active or Inactive Status:
- Each zone can be marked as active or inactive. An active zone means it is currently in use for scheduling and employee assignments, while an inactive zone is not in use but can be reactivated if needed.
-
Swap Permissions:
- Zones also include an option to manage whether shift swaps are permitted within that zone. This setting determines whether employees can request to swap shifts with one another based on zone-specific rules.
Managing Zone Status
- Activating or Deactivating a Zone:
- You can only activate or deactivate a zone in the system. When you activate a zone, it becomes available for scheduling, and employees can be assigned to shifts within that zone. When you deactivate a zone, it is temporarily unavailable, and no new shifts can be assigned to it until it is reactivated.
